Writing Coaches & Mentors is an online directory of accomplished professional writers who provide coaching, mentoring, and manuscript consultation services. Founded in 2020 by award-winning author, editor, and professional writing coach, Neil Aitken, this site provides a single destination for writers seeking mentorship, critical feedback, and meaningful conversations about craft, inspiration, and work.
Perhaps an MFA or PhD in Creative Writing doesn’t fit your budget or your schedule. Or maybe you work in another field and would love to work one on one with another writer who could help you pursue your writing goals or finish that poetry manuscript, novel, or memoir that’s been sitting on the back burner. Maybe you’ve always wanted to write, but haven’t had the opportunity to take the classes or haven’t found the right mentor. You might have taken workshops and classes before, but for some reason, the experience wasn’t helpful or meaningful, or it stifled your creativity or made you uncertain of your words.
Whatever your circumstances, we hope that you will reach out to the writing coaches and mentors listed here. We’ve tried to gather and showcase talented, broadminded, and dedicated writers whose writing and publishing experiences are significant.
